Hepatic haemodynamic changes and locoregional treatment of HCC
Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common primary liver cancer and has a world wide distribution Interventional therapies of HCC have an increasingly important role in the treatment of liver malignancies. In our study we could conclude that:• Liver hemodynamics in HCC whether treated or not are different from those in liver cirrhosis alone.• There is no significant hemodynamic changes occur in the liver following radio-frequency, alcohol injection, TACE and combined TACE-RFA.• RFA as a treatment for HCC is superior to alcohol injection and transarterial catheter chemoembolization.• Combined modalities in the treatment of HCC are better that single treatment alone.
